What is Microneedling / Collagen PIN?
PIN (Percutaneous Induction Therapy) is an FDA approved method of introducing a controlled wound into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen and elastin. Tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries to the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin. The skin’s repair process results in a healthier, more youthful dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles, scars and stretch marks.
ClearlyDerm uses the Collagen PIN, one of the most advanced medical-grade, automated micro-needling devices on the market.
Micro-Needling is commonly used to treat:
- Body scars
- Fine lines
- Pigmentation Marks
- Stretch Marks
- Loose Skin
- Photo Aging
How is the procedure done?
A sterile needle-tip containing 12 or 36 tiny micro-needles is attached to the Collagen PIN. Our aesthetician will then select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs and may apply a topical serum (usually, hyaluronic acid-based) to the your cleaned skin. As the Collegen PIN is rolled across your skin, tiny micro-channels created stimulate your skin’s own natural ability heal itself, thereby creating new, healthier, more youthful appearing skin.
Typically a series of 3-6 Collagen PIN treatments is recommended, depending upon your area of correction or concern. Your skincare professional will ultimately determine a treatment schedule based on your individual goals and desires. Treatments are usually spaced in 4 week intervals.
