Background
Dr. Julia Escandon Brehm is a trained Dermatologist and researcher. Originally from Ecuador, she received her MD from the Universidad de Cuenca graduating amongst the best of her class. During medical school, she served as a teacher assistant in Biology and Anatomy. She then moved to the United States to pursue research and received her Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Miami. She completed her internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach and her Dermatology residency at the Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami.
During her residency, she served as Cosmetic Chief Resident and started the Cosmetic Saturday clinics for training her peers, once again demonstrating her passion for teaching. She is interested in Dermatology research and teaching, her clinical interest is medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology with an emphasis on skin cancer.
Dr. Escandon Brehm speaks English, Spanish, and French and loves traveling and international food, interests that she shares with Michael, her husband. They are parents of two children and Mango, a playful Dalmatian.
Dr. Escandon Brehm will be working in our Boynton Beach and Central Boca Raton offices.
