BBL laser treatment

Sciton laser treatments can be used to treat:

  • Fine Lines
  • Deeper Wrinkles
  • Skin Texture
  • Acne Scars
  • Pigmented Lesions
  • Telangiectasis
  • Lentigos

The Sciton Joule X laser uses multiple platforms to tailor treatment to each patient and their skin’s needs. Clearlyderm is offering the following laser services with the Joule X:

  1. BroadBand Light (BBL)  uses multiple wavelengths to safely remove age spots, redness, freckles, and small vessels. BBL can greatly increase luminosity, brilliance, and texture of the skin by removing imperfections. BBL  can be used on areas of the body that are exposed to sun like the face, chest, neck, and hands. This IPL technology works best on fair skin. You can expect to leave the treatment with what we describe as a “sunburn” sensation.
  2. Contour Resurfacing Laser (TRL) is an ablative Erbium laser (wavelength 2940) to resurface skin, which improves skin tone and texture, tightens laxity and eliminates fine lines and wrinkles. The setting in this module can be adjusted from “superficial” to “deeper”, depending on the patient’s goals. Contour TRL usually requires a pre-procedure medication. Skin can be pink for several weeks to months following this procedure and makeup cannot be applied over the skin until it heals which is typically around a week.
  3. Profractional
Sciton’s ProFractional laser treatment is a fractionated Erbium laser that focuses on improving the overall quality of the skin.  ProFractional can effectively target textural issues, wrinkles, surgical and acne scars, and other imperfections.
  4. BroadBand Light High Energy Rapid Output (BBL HERO) is an advanced version of BBL therapy which uses intense pulsed light, or IPL, to target skin concerns.

There is no “one size fits all” protocol for the laser.  If you have never had a laser before, a nice option is to start with BBL to remove imperfections and understand laser healing. There is no magic number, but the more treatments you do, the better your skin will look.  After the first BBL treatment, you can decide if you would like a second or even third initial treatment. After that, many patients have BBL done every 6 months or yearly, depending on their history of sun exposure.

The ERBIUM laser resurfacing is a more intense procedure as the skin is removed in a very precise fashion. All of the Erbium treatments are beneficial, whether a patient opts for more frequent micropeels (less recovery time) or the deeper resurfacing (longer recovery time) to address deeper lines.

Your Clearlyderm provider at the Boca Raton Central location will evaluate your medical history prior to you receiving treatment. Baseline photographs will be taken to monitor your progress and you will be given detailed instructions about what the procedure involves, what to expect, and recommended care for after the treatment.
