In Addition to Professional Acne Treatment, Consider These 3 Tips to Prevent Breakouts

Skin issues can range from minor annoyances to major health concerns. Whether you’re experiencing a little bit of acne or you have terrible skin problems, you need to make sure you are addressing these skin issues as soon as possible. It’s estimated that one-fifth of Americans will develop skin cancer over the course of their lifetime.

Luckily, there are plenty of skincare professionals across the country that can provide high quality skin and acne treatment for all kinds of skin concerns. In fact, employment of skincare specialists is projected to increase 14% by 2026, faster than the average for all other occupations.

In addition to visiting a dermatology center and receiving quality acne treatment, there are plenty of other things you can do to combat blemishes. Here are some things to consider when fighting your acne issues:

    • Wash your face often — Acne or not, you should regularly wash your face to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin clean. If you do have frequent acne breakouts, though, you need to wash your face more often and more thoroughly. Don’t scrub your skin too harshly, though, because that can irritate your face — wash gently and wash often.

    • Clean your pillows and blankets — Cleaning your pillowcases and your blankets should be done on a regular basis anyway, but if you’re worried about acne breakouts you need to do it even more. Since your bed is a bacteria breeding ground, dirty pillowcases and blankets can lead to clogged pores and major acne breakouts. Change your sheets and pillowcases at least once or twice a week.

  • Be careful with makeup — If you use makeup, try to limit how much you use during and leading up to a breakout. Also, it’s imperative to wash off all your makeup at the end of the day and use noncomedogenic products if you can.

Don’t let your acne ruin your daily life anymore — it’s time to take back the look and feel of your skin. If you want to learn more about fighting severe skin issues and speak with a skilled dermatologist about quality acne treatment, give Clearlyderm a call today.
